ktvu's alex savidge has been there since 4:30. so what's the latest? what's happening out there, ail length? >> well, dave, they've managed to shut the water off. they did that a little while ago but now they have a major repair job on their hands. you can see crews right now have begun the process of digging with the roadway. so they can go in there and replace that section of pipe that ruptured earlier this morning. in the meantime irk want to give you a look at some of the damage that was done. the roadway was pushed up because of the underground pressure, all of that water flowing. this is the scene for much of the morning as water gushed from the middle of this intersection to jackson and santa clara street t was a 12- inch water main that ruptured just after 3:30 this morning. it took roughly four hours for crews to stop the flow of water. the city of hayward workers came out here. they were able to stop the flow of water eventually but it was a complex process as workers had to shut off a number of different valves all throughout this neighborho

ktvu's alex savidge tells us a 12-year-old boy was among three people who were shot. alex? >> reporter: well, as thousands packed the waterfront last night, someone opened fire here on embarcadero close to pier 2. a total of two people shot here. one of them a 12-year-old boy. he was hit in the foot but is expected to be okay. now, this happened about 11:30 last night, as people were waiting for the fireworks show to begin in san francisco. along with the boy wounded, a man was grazed in the hip by a bullet. san francisco police say both of those shooting victims are being treated for nonlife- threatening injuries. at this point, it's unclear why the shooter began to fire or who their intended target was. just about an hour before that, there was another shooting along the waterfront. this one close to fisherman's wharf, near jefferson and mason. one person shot in the hand. police say that person's injuries request are not life- threatening. a search for the gunman came up empty. i put in a call to the police department's spokesperson about updates. i've not heard back so

alex savidge joining us live to show us video of the stunt. you say this is not the first time something like this has happened alex? >> reporter: well, dave, looking online, i was able to find quite a few similar videos of these freeway sideshows. many of them taking praise right here in -- place right here in oakland. and many took place along 880. right by the coliseum is where we are this morning. as we drove along the freeway, you can see a ton of tire marks on the roadway here. this is the video that surfaced on the internet over the weekend. it was posted originally by a man from vallejo. it shows several cars simultaneously doing doughnuts right in the middle of the freeway and this happened right in the middle of the day on saturday. traffic, as you can imagine, came to a standstill on 880. the video lasts less than two minutes before someone warned those drivers that chp officers are on the way to the scene. everyone gets in already cars and they drive out -- in their cars and they drive off. people who have seen the video are hoping
